Dry ice blasting is a non‑abrasive cleaning process that uses compressed air to accelerate dry ice pellets. When the pellets hit the surface, they sublimate instantly—lifting away dirt, grease, undercoating, and contaminants without leaving residue or moisture behind.
It’s one of the safest and most effective ways to clean vehicles, equipment, and restoration projects.
To sublimate means to change directly from a solid to a gas without becoming a liquid in between.
Dry ice does exactly that. When it hits a surface, it instantly turns from a frozen pellet into CO₂ gas. There’s no melting, no water, and no residue — which is why dry ice blasting leaves surfaces clean and dry.
Our rate is $195 per hour, including materials.
Yes. Dry ice blasting is non‑abrasive, non‑corrosive, and non‑conductive, making it safe for:
It removes grime without grinding away material.
Dry ice blasting works exceptionally well on:
If you’re unsure whether your project is a good fit, we’re happy to evaluate it.
No. Dry ice sublimates instantly into CO₂ gas, leaving zero secondary waste. The only material left behind is whatever was removed from the surface. Most cleanings leave less than a dust pan of material.
We use a Karcher L2P dry ice blaster. This blaster makes its own dry ice from liquid CO2 cylinders. Other dry ice blasters required dry ice (in rice form) to be fed into the blaster.
Liquid CO2 cylinders are readily available which allows us be able to handle projects of any size. You are only paying for the dry ice that is used for a project.
No. Kryos Kleen does not offer mobile dry ice blasting.

Dry ice blasting requires a very specific type of air supply that typical home or shop compressors simply cannot provide. Our blasting equipment is designed to run on high‑volume, high‑pressure, ultra‑clean air, and that combination is not achievable with consumer‑grade compressors.
Most garage compressors produce 10–20 CFM, while dry ice blasting systems often require 150+ CFM to operate correctly. Without that air volume, the machine cannot maintain consistent pellet acceleration, which directly affects cleaning power and surface safety.
In addition to airflow, the air must be refrigerated, dry, and oil‑free. Moisture or oil in the air line will freeze inside the blast hose, cause clogs, reduce performance, and can even damage the equipment. To prevent this, we use industrial‑grade refrigerated dryers, filtration systems, and large‑diameter air lines that are permanently installed in our shop.
Because of these technical requirements, customer‑supplied compressors cannot safely or effectively run a dry ice blaster. Performing the work in our shop ensures the correct air supply, protects the equipment, and delivers the high‑quality results Kryos Kleen is known for.
